How to Make Your Skin Look Better Overnight (Yes, Really)
Posted by Ellie Swain on Feb 24th 2023
Have you got a hot date tomorrow night? Or the party of the year to attend?
While many products promise beautiful, clear skin (we’re looking at you, retinol), results can take weeks or months to notice. What if you want glowing, transformed skin by, like, tomorrow?
Fortunately, we have a few tips and tricks to help you get your skin tip-top shape ASAP. Keep reading to learn more.
Wash your face
Let’s start with the basics – wash your face. The foundation of beautiful skin is cleansed skin.
A cream-to-oil cleanser is a great shout. Exfoliating cleansers can strip the skin’s natural barrier, leaving the complexion dry and dull. However, an oil-based or cream-to-oil cleanser is gentle on the skin, leaving the compexion’s natural barrier unharmed and glowing.
Wear a sheet mask before bed
Not only do sheet masks make great snaps for Instagram, but they’re excellent for quenching thirsty skin.
Before you apply your products for the evening, indulge your skin with an extra dose of moisture. Pop a sheet mask on before you snooze, and you’ll be left with radiant, dewy skin when you roll out of bed in the morning.
There are many sheet masks available, but we love the Babor 3DHydro Gel Face Mask. The mask is bursting with a hydrating blend of hyaluronic acid, hexapeptide-8, and second skin technology to treat all dehydrated skin types.
The hydro-gel mask has two sections, so it can be molded perfectly to fit your face. It provides a cooling and revitalizing feeling for the skin.
Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, after which the skin will be instantly more hydrated and plumper.
Don’t pick at your skin
Another obvious one, but it must be mentioned, nevertheless. Don’t pick at your skin.
Fight the urge to burst any pimples, as this can cause more inflammation and redness, making your skin look worse, not better. If you have any spots, leave them be and understand that all these tips on this list will help treat those zits as opposed to you putting your bacteria-covered fingers all over them.
If you can, it’s best to avoid touching your skin altogether.
Use a spot treatment
This leads us to our next tip – use a spot treatment if you’re experiencing any unwanted spots.
A specialized spot treatment will help you zap any blemishes overnight. Salicylic acid spot treatments, in particular, will help clear your pores gently. Sulfur and benzoyl peroxide are more potent and can treat the appearance of acne in just a few hours.
Apply a facial oil
Like many others, you may still be on the fence about facial oils. But if you hope to transform your skin overnight, it may be time to take the leap of faith.
Oils protect the outer layer of the skin, delivering rich antioxidants to prevent DNA damage.
Consider layering an oil under your night cream for the best results. Choose an oil that’s non-comedogenic so it won’t clog your pores, such as argan, sunflower seed, or marula oil.
Alternatively, the Tuel Moisture Nourishing Essential Oil Blend consists of antioxidant-rich plant extracts, including a nourishing blend of geranium, rosemary, and bergamot mint.
This blended oil delivers a concentrated dose of nutrients and vitamins that enhance hydration, repair the skin, and improve circulation. The formula replenishes and supports the skin’s natural ability to retain moisture, leaving the complexion soft, supple, and silky.
Hydrate
Dehydration refers to a lack of water in the skin. Thirsty skin can appear red, inflamed, or irritated. When pinched, it may not appear plump and firm but instead may tent up in a wrinkly shape or fine lines.
If you want to see a difference in your skin quickly, make sure to glug down plenty of water.
But we understand that drinking plenty of water isn’t easy for everyone. If drinking a lot of water doesn’t entice you, why not grab a green juice or two from your local café?
Green juices are often tasty and hydrate and encourage lymphatic drainage to de-puff. Likewise, chlorophyll provides similar effects while also oxygenating the skin.
Exfoliate
Exfoliating your skin often feels like a luxurious way to treat your skin from the comfort of your bathroom. The process sloughs away dead skin, almost instantly revealing a brighter, smoother, more glowing complexion.
For fabulous skin, use a product with physical and chemical exfoliation, like a scrub containing AHAs.
